The Meyer Theater in Green Bay is a 1950’s style theatre where the whole family can enjoy live music and theatrical performances year ’round.

In 1998, people looked at what the theatre was and dreamed of what it could be. Years of hard work and challenges, doubts and frustrations, and laughs and tears are forgotten as the dreams and desires become reality.

To those who so tenaciously continued forward in the face of uncertainty, we thank you for your trust. To the true believers, we recognize your courage. To those who took leaps of faith, we are grateful.

There were many who took leaps. But, the greatest exhibition of faith and belief was shown by Betty Rose Meyer. Her financial contribution was the impetus needed to move the project forward.

After 16-months of construction and four years of planning, fundraising and coordination, the Robert T. Meyer Theatre opened its doors to the public on February 27, 2002. Betty Rose Meyer was among the 650 supporters in attendance. “It’s just beautiful, I can’t believe it,” she said as she toured the facility. Meyer provided a $1.5 million gift to launch the restoration, which is named in honor of her late husband, the former president and chief executive officer of Tape Inc. of Green Bay.
